Recording Advancements

DSM uses a new technology called Digital Video Recording (DVR) which has elevated surveillance products to a new level.  DVR systems provide the viewer with the ability to monitor every aspect of their site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without the need to change tapes. DSM will also provide our custom software that enables remote access to the surveillance system from any computer with internet capabilities and a connection. Our systems are extremely easy to operate and require no prior knowledge of surveillance systems.

DVR vs. VCR

Features DVR VCR
Storage Device Records directly to a hard drive. Records to VHS tapes.
Maintenance An average DVR holds 30 days (or more) of recorded video. Tapes must be changed and archived daily.
Recording Settings Can be programmed to recorded only when motion is detected. Records constantly, wasting valuable storage space.
Video Quality Video is recorded digitally so the quality stays crisp and clear. When tapes are reused the picture quality deteriorates over time.
Off Site Viewing Live and recorded video are accessible remotely. Must watch directly from VCR output.
